Champion South Australian Brewery

The results of the 2012 Royal Adelaide Beer Awards were announced on 6th July, 2012 and we are thrilled to share with you that we won four Champion Trophies.  Our Wheat Beer won  Champion Wheat Beer, and not only did it score the highest points in its category it also scored the highest points out of every beer that was judge in the event, thus winning itself Champion Exhibit.  Our total points for all our entries were tallied and we came out with Champion Small Brewery and Champion South Australian Brewery.  An article that appeared in the Adelaide Advertiser the morning after read:

Microbrewer triumps

"A battle royal between South Australia's brewing flagship Coopers and a tiny regional operation dominated this year's Royal Adelaide Beer Awards.  McLaren Vale based micro brewery Goodieson, run by husband and wife team Jeff and Mary Goodieson pipped big gun Cooopers by taking out four trophies to three in the annual competition announced last night.  It won the top trophy for its category, winning Goodieson Wheat Beer, and was named Champion SA Brewery and Small Brewer.  Champion large brewer Coopers won gongs for its Mild Ale and premium lager."
